Condenser: A common method for removing scale from water-cooled condensers

Condenser After long-term use, it is easy to scale in the pipeline. If not dealt with in time, these scales will affect the heat exchange effect and increase the condensing temperature of the unit, which will lead to a decrease in the cooling capacity of the unit and an increase in power consumption, as shown in the figure below. Therefore, the condenser should be cleaned frequently.

Therefore, the condenser should be cleaned frequently.

There are generally three ways to prevent and remove scale:

1. Mechanical descaling method: Mechanical descaling is a method of descaling steel cooling tube condensers with a flexible shaft washer, especially suitable for vertical shell and tube condensers.

The operation method is:

1. Pump the refrigerant from the condenser.

2. Close all valves connecting the condenser to the refrigeration system.

3. The cooling water supply of the condenser is normal.

4. The bevel gear-shaped scraper connected to the flexible shaft tube washing device rotates to remove the scale from the top to the bottom in the condenser riser, and use the circulating cooling water to cool the heat generated by the friction between the scraper and the washing machine. At the same time, flush the cleaned scale, rust and other dirt into the pool.

In the process of descaling, according to the thickness of the condenser, the degree of corrosion of the tube wall and the length of service life, choose a hob with a suitable diameter, but the hob of the selected hob has a larger diameter in one descaling process. The pipe diameter should be appropriately smaller than the inner diameter of the cooling pipe to prevent damage to the pipe wall. The second descaling uses a hob close to the inner diameter of the cooling pipe. These two types of descaling can remove more than 95% of the scale and rust on the condenser.

This mechanical descaling method uses the rotation and vibration of the bevel gear hob during the feeding process in the cooling pipe to remove the scale and rust in the cooling pipe of the condenser. After the descaling is completed, pump out all the water in the condensate pool, clean up the dirt, rust and other dirt removed from the bottom of the pool, and refill it with water.

2. Chemical pickling and descaling method: Use the prepared weak acid descaling agent to clean the condenser to make the scale fall off and improve the heat transfer efficiency of the condenser.

The operation method is:

Prepare the descaling liquid in the pickling tank, start the pickling pump, and make the descaling liquid circulate in the condenser tube of the condenser for 24 hours. Generally, the scale is basically removed after 24 hours. After stopping the pickling pump, use a round steel brush to pull back and forth in the condenser tube wall, and wash off the scale and rust with clean water. Rinse the residual descaling solution in the tube repeatedly with clean water until it is completely clean. The chemical pickling descaling method is suitable for vertical and horizontal shell and tube condensers.

3. Electronic magnetic water descaling method: The working principle of the electronic magnetic water device is to dissolve calcium, magnesium and other salts in the cooling water flowing through the condenser in the state of positive and negative ions at room temperature.
