The air storage tank is an important link in the compressed air system. What kind of gas tank is needed in different situations? Let's take a look at what is the role of the air compressor air tank in the compressed air system?

1. Store air to meet the sudden and instantaneous increase in the gas consumption of gas equipment;

2. Store air and eliminate airflow pulsation in the pipeline;

3. Preliminary cooling of the air to separate out a portion of the liquid water. Therefore, the fuel tank should be emptied regularly;

4. The air compressor can be automatically turned off. When the air storage tank is filled with air under the set pressure, the air compressor will automatically stop to avoid wasting electricity when the air compressor continues to run.

Theoretically speaking, the bigger the air storage tank, the better, which can reduce the number of frequent starts of the air compressor. Star-delta starting belongs to power frequency starting, and the instantaneous current of motor starting is about 7 times of the rated current. Frequent starting will cause great damage to the electrical part of the air compressor, reduce the service life of the electrical part, have a great impact on the power grid, and affect the normal use of other electrical equipment.

The air storage tank at the outlet of the air compressor can not only stabilize the outlet pressure and buffer, but also play an important role that ordinary users will not notice, that is, prevent the compressed air pipeline from returning liquid for some reason during the shutdown of the air compressor, and prevent the compressed air from flowing back. Back in the air compressor due to damage. If the gas storage tank is removed, the inverted U-bend design should be used in the pipeline design to play the same role.

In addition, the role of the air tank is to prevent large fluctuations in the pipe network pressure of the compressed air system. Since the gas consumption at the end of the compressed air system cannot be stabilized at any time, an air storage tank should be used to balance the stability of the system pressure and reduce the frequent loading and unloading of the air compressor. Another function is to cool the dry compressed air again to reduce the moisture content in the compressed air.

For individual compressed air systems, such as air compressors with large displacement (such as centrifugal air compressors), large system pipe network (large and long pipe diameter), and stable gas consumption, there is no need to provide an air storage tank. However, the general compressed air system needs to be equipped with an air storage tank.

There is no place to store compressed air in an air compressor. Once compressed air is produced, it must be used. This working mode is not ideal. With an air storage tank, compressed air can be pumped into the air storage tank to a certain pressure, and then the air pressure can be reduced to a certain extent, and the compressor can be restarted, which is more ideal in terms of energy utilization and compressed air quality. So no fuel tank will do. However, for equipment that requires less compressed air and is not frequently used, the air compressor can be used without an air storage tank. However, considering the stable performance of the air compressor, constant pressure, and good compressed air quality, it is equipped with an air storage tank.
